ESDU 83035 is accompanied by a computer program (ESDUpac A8335) for estimating the data that are particularly relevant to multilayered laminates having fibre-reinforced composite layers@ but are equally applicable to plates having a combination of isotropic material and composite material layers@ or sandwich panels having composite-material laminated face plates. The plate elastic properties generated are those required for the strength@ or stability analysis@ of thin laminated plates that can be treated as orthotropic plates. A procedure for the estimation of the individual fibre-reinforced composite laminate elastic properties@ from the properties of the fibre and matrix materials and their relative volumes@ is provided in the form of equations and graphs. This procedure is also incorporated in the computer program. Practical worked examples illustrate the use of the data.
