The following bounds were applied to the scope of this document: 1) This document concentrates primarily on the HCI requirements that are applicable to and important to satellite control operations. It addresses the HCI requirements for a more user-friendly and standardized conduct of the 12 generic satellite control operations tasks defined in detail in Appendix B. 2) Examples in this document focus mainly on satellite platform commanding@ health and status@ and attitude/orbit determination and maintenance functions. The HCISSO requirements in this document are@ however@ also applicable to other control operations such as satellite payload control and mission data handling@ and a number of similar operations such as space launch control. 3) This document does not address classical HCI anthropomorphic@ environmental (e.g.@ lighting and noise)@ and workstation ergonomic concerns. It defers to the great body of detailed requirements developed from extensive research in these areas that is currently available to developers as industry standards. 4) Finally@ while its primary focus is to state critical core requirements@ this document also provides an integrated set of enhancement capabilities.
