FOREWORD Through the cooperation of The Crowell-Collier Publishing Company a series of questions on motor oil and lubrication@ designed by the Marketing Research Committee of the Division of Marketing@ American Petroleum Institute@ was included in the Crowell-Collier 1955 Automotive Survey. The questions were designed to determine where people take their cars for oil changes and lubrication jobs@ the intervals between the performance of these services@ and the kind of motor oils they buy. A total of 4@165 interviews were conducted to develop the data presented herewith@ and a series of tabulations of the replies was made.
