FOTP-213 IEC 61290-7-1 Optical Fibre Amplifiers - Basic Specification Part 7-1: Test Methods for Out-of-Band Insertion Losses - Filtered Optical Power Meter (Please refer to IEC 61290-7-1)
Scope and object This part of IEC 61290 applies to optical fibre amplifiers (OFAs) using active fibres@ containing rare-earth dopants@ presently commercially available. The object of this standard is to establish uniform requirements for accurate and reliable measurements@ by means of the filtered optical power meter test method@ of the following OFA parameters@ as defined in clause 3 of IEC 61291-1: a) out-of-band insertion loss; b) out-of-band reverse insertion loss. NOTE 1 - The out-of-band insertion loss of an OFA is highly dependent on the amplifier configuration and the out-of - band wavelength. NOTE 2 - All numerical values followed by (?)are currently under consideration.
