PURPOSE AND SCOPE The primary purpose of the Allied Maritime Tactical Signal and Maneuvering Book is to facilitate the dissemination of orders and information pertinent to Allied maritime operations. It contains maneuvering signals@ standard operational signals@ the more common administrative signals@ and basic maneuvering instructions. The book is designed for communication between naval units of all types. It can be used with any method of signaling.
