INTRODUCTION It is difficult to overemphasize-the importance of having accurate thermal property data available for use in designing petroleum refining and related processes. Small inaccuracies in the thermal properties data can result in huge cost differences in the construction and operation of these facilities. Despite this importance@ experimental thermal properties data are relatively scarce@ particularly for mixtures. Generalized correlations must be relied upon frequently to provide the necessary design and performance evaluation data. Because experimental thermal properties measurements are expensive and time-consuming@ this situation is not likely to change in the near future.
