This standard covers the minimum requirements for the design@ materials@ fabrication@ inspection@ testing@ preparation for shipment@ and erection of fired heaters for general refinery service.A fired heater shall be of the type in which heat liberated by the combustion of fuel(s) is transferred to fluids(s) contained in tubular coils within an internally insulated enclosure.NOTE:?A bullet(?) at the beginning of the paragraph indicates that a decision by the purchaser is required. These desicions should be indicated on the data sheets (see Appendix A) when provisions are made thereon; otherwise they should be stated in the quotation request or in the order. Decisions should be indicated on the check list (see Appendix B).
