This International Standard specifies requirements for conduit fittings for use with conduits for the protection of conductors and/or cables in electrical installations@ and type tests for the quality of joints of conduit fittings to conduit. This standard also applies to conduit fittings used for assembling conduits to conduit boxes. Connecting couplers@ bends@ reducing couplers@ tees@ cross-pieces@ threaded stoppers and the like are within the scope of this standard. NOTE - Certain conduit fittings may also be suitable for use in hazardous atmospheres. Consideration should@ therefore@ be given to the extra requirements necessary for equipment to be installed in such conditions.This section of IEC 1035-2 specifies requirements for metal conduit fittings@ for use with circular@ threadable or non-threadable conduits complying with IEC 614. This standard is not applicable to fittings for use with flexible conduits (IEC 614-2-5).
