1.This specification covers portable masts@ which shall be defined as any mast structure suitable for oil-well or gas-well drilling or servicing. The free-standing portable mast is erected to its working position as a unit@ is normally dismantled into relatively large components for moving@ and does not require guylines as essential load-carrying members. 2.
