These requirements cover early control mode specific application (CMSA) sprinklers having nominal discharge coefficients (K-Factors) of either 19.6@ 25.2@ or 28.0 and installation orientations as referenced in this Outline. These sprinklers are intended for installation in accordance with the Standard for the Installation of Sprinklers@ NFPA 13 and the manufacturer's installation instructions. CMSA sprinklers covered by this Outline are also required to comply with the applicable requirements in the Standard for Automatic Sprinklers for Fire Protection Service@ UL 199@ except as noted herein. The requirements in this Outline are not intended to restrict the application of representative fire and other tests for special sprinklers@ as referenced in Standard for the Installation of Sprinklers@ NFPA 13@ that are intended to provide protection for specific fire hazards.
