This standard provides the requirements for a tape cartridge to be used for information interchange among information-processing systems, communication systems, and associated equipment utilizing a standard code for information interchange as agreed upon by the interchange parties. Sections 4 through 8 of this standard provide the general reequirements, definitions, physical and magnetic tape characteristics, and the tape-cartridge requirements. Sections 9 through 15 deal with the requirements for recording on magnetic tape.
