The computer program and automatic data system are developed through various phases from the moment that the concept of creating software begins to the time the software produces the desired output. At present, many a different terminology is used to define these phases and the diverse procedures of each phase. In terms of the software life cycle, three phases can be applicable; the initial, development and operation phases. The development phase is subdivided into four processes.
This guideline proposes guides on the table of contents for ten document types generally prepared during the development phase.
Figure 1 illustrates the preparation for ten document types in connection with the processes of the development phase. The volume of produced documents is flexible, which is discussed in 2. Scrutiny of documentation. in 3. Guideline for document type, the guides for the table of contents related to the ten document types at the development phase are demonstrated.
