This Standard specifies the hot rolled steels (hereafter referred to as "steel products")
to be used for bridges, ships, rolling stocks, petroleum storage tanks, containers and
other constructions that have superior weldability.
Unless otherwise specified, the text of this standard is used, however, Annex A may be used in place of the text upon agreement between the pruchaser and the supplier.

ISO 630 : 1995 Structural steels--Plates, wide fiats, bars, sections
and profiles (MOD)
In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in
the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are
IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according
to ISO/IEC Guide 21.
