Scope
This standard specifies the discontinuous tandem ultrasonic testing method perpendicular to the surface and the longitudinal-longitudinal-transverse (LLT) ultrasonic testing method. See GB/T39240 for general principles of ultrasonic testing, and GB/T39242 for symbols and definitions. This standard is applicable to metal materials whose upper and lower surfaces are parallel or have coaxial surfaces with a thickness between 40 mm and 500 mm, and is suitable for the detection of discontinuities with a depth greater than 15 mm and perpendicular to the surface. The detection of other materials and smaller thicknesses can be used by reference.
