This part of GB/T 17888 specifies the requirements for fixed ladders as part of stationary machines, and non-powered adjustable (such as foldable, slidable) and movable parts of fixed ladder systems. Note 1: "Fixed" access means means that after installation (such as by screws, nuts, welding), access facilities can only be removed using tools. The minimum requirements specified in this section also apply to similar access facilities (such as fixed ladders) on the building where the machine is installed, provided that the main function of such facilities is for access to the machine. Note 2: If there are no other standards, this section also applies to access facilities outside the scope of this section. This section is used together with the requirements specified in GB/T 17888.1 for fixed vertical ladder systems. GB/T 17888 applies to stationary machinery and mobile machinery equipped with fixed access facilities, and does not apply to powered access facilities, such as elevators, escalators or other devices specially designed to lift people between two levels . GB/T17888.4—2008 "Type Components" update 3.1, add the term "fixed vertical elevator system"
