This part of GB/T 17888 specifies the general requirements for access to stationary machinery, and gives guidance on how to correctly select access facilities when it is necessary to approach stationary machinery and cannot directly approach the machine from the ground, floor or platform. This section applies to permanent access facilities as part of a fixed machinery, and also applies to non-powered adjustable components (such as foldable, slidable) and movable parts of fixed access facilities. Note 1: "Fixed" access means means that after installation (such as by screws, nuts, welding), access facilities can only be removed using tools. The minimum requirements specified in this section also apply to similar access facilities (such as working platforms, passages, ladders) on the building where the machine is installed, provided that the main function of such facilities is for access to the machine. Note 2: If there are no other standards, this section also applies to access facilities outside the scope of this section. This part is used together with other parts of GB/T 17888. GB/T 17888 applies to stationary machinery and mobile machinery equipped with fixed access facilities, and does not apply to powered access facilities, such as elevators, escalators or other devices specially designed to lift people between two levels . Chapter 4 of this Part gives significant hazards. "General Requirements" Updated the normative references cited in Chapter 2. Revised the content of Chapter 4, and changed the relevant provisions into notes. Added: The new Chapter 5 "General Requirements for Design and Construction" includes Part 2 to Part 2.
