Scope
This standard specifies the measurement methods for the noise emission of gas turbine units and steam turbine units under stable operating conditions. It specifies the measurement method for measuring the sound pressure level of the measuring surface of the enveloping sound source, and the calculation method of the sound power level generated by the sound source. This standard specifies the requirements for the measurement environment and instruments as well as the technique for obtaining the measurement of surface sound pressure levels, where the A-weighted sound power level of the sound source and the octave or 1/3 octave band sound power level are based on the surface sound pressure level Calculated. These methods can be used for performance testing, even if the purpose of the test is simply to determine the sound pressure level around the machine. This standard applies to gas turbine units and steam turbine units used in the following environments: --- power plant and industrial applications (such as: stationary); --- ship or offshore applications, road and rail vehicle applications. This standard does not apply to gas turbines used in aviation applications. This standard applies only to the part of the gas turbine unit and steam turbine unit (gas turbine, steam turbine and its driving equipment and auxiliary equipment) located above the platform and within the continuous envelope measurement surface bounded by the platform. This standard applies to stable operating conditions, and does not include transient operations such as startup and shutdown where short-term noise emissions are relatively high.
