Scope
1.1 Overview This standard specifies the method for determining the sound power level or sound energy level of a noise source based on the sound pressure level measured on the surface surrounding the noise source (machinery or equipment) in a test environment that meets the given conditions. From these measurements, the A-weighted sound power level (or A-weighted sound energy level for bursts and transients) produced by the noise source can be calculated. Note: Different shapes of measurement surfaces will give different sound power level estimates for the same noise source. The corresponding test procedures in GB/T19052-2003 give detailed information on the selection of the measurement surface. 1.2 Noise and types of noise sources
