Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for side and rear lower protective devices of automobiles and trailers and technical requirements for vehicles. This standard applies to N2, N3, O3, O4class vehicles. This standard does not apply to semi-trailer tractors; nor does it apply to vehicles designed and manufactured for special purposes that cannot be installed with side protection devices and rear lower protection devices due to objective reasons. The rear lower protection requirements do not apply to special-purpose vehicles (such as vehicles for transporting goods such as timber) specially designed and manufactured for carrying long goods that cannot be segmented.
