Scope: This standard specifies the application and criteria for the extension of the validity of the type test for 3.6kV~40.5kV AC metal-enclosed switchgear and control equipment, as well as the general method for the extension of the validity of the type test. This standard applies to AC metal-enclosed switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of 3.6kV~40.5kV specified in GB/T3906-2020, as well as other equipment in the same enclosure that may affect each other. This standard applies to the validity of a type test carried out on a sample with a certain set of ratings, extending to other switchgear assemblies of the same family with different ratings or different component arrangements. Note: In order to conduct consistent conformity assessment and realize the optimization of type test, this standard supports the selection of typical test items composed of functional units of switchgear and controlgear of the same family. This standard combines proven technical and physical principles, manufacturer and user experience, and calculations to establish extended guidelines for the effectiveness of type tests to cover a variety of designs and ratings.
