This document specifies minimum spacings in relation to human body parts. Users of this document (such as standard drafters and mechanical designers) apply this method to avoid the danger of the crush zone and achieve sufficient safety. This document applies only to risks arising from crush hazards. This document does not apply to other possible hazards, such as impact, shear, entanglement and other risks arising. NOTE: For hazards such as impact, shear and entanglement, other additional measures need to be taken.
