- This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, packaging, marking, storage, transportation and delivery acceptance of paraffin wax for food. This standard applies to paraffin wax for food which is obtained from oil-containing wax as raw material, which is sweated or deoiled by solvent, and then hydrofined or refined with clay. According to the application, it can be divided into food paraffin wax and food packaging paraffin wax. Food paraffin is suitable for waxes that directly contact food and medicine, such as food pharmaceutical components, mold release, tablet pressing, and polishing. Paraffin wax for food packaging is suitable for containers in contact with food, impregnating wax for packaging materials, and wax for sealing and coating of medicines.
