This standard specifies the selection principles for the rated withstand voltage of phase-to-ground insulation, phase-to-phase insulation and longitudinal insulation of high-voltage power transmission and transformation equipment in a three-phase AC system, and provides standardized withstand voltage values for general selection. When formulating each equipment standard, the rated withstand voltage and test procedures suitable for this type of equipment should be specified according to the requirements of this standard. This standard applies to the following indoor and outdoor power transmission and transformation equipment used in the three-phase AC power system with the maximum equipment voltage greater than 1kV. a) Transformers: power transformers, shunt reactors, arc suppression coils and electromagnetic voltage transformers; b) High-voltage electrical appliances: circuit breakers, isolating switches, load switches, grounding shorts, fuses, current-limiting reactors, current mutual inductance c) Combined (box-type) substation; d) Power capacitors: coupling capacitors (including capacitive voltage transformers), shunt capacitors, and AC filter capacitors; e ) High-voltage power cables; f) Substation insulators, wall bushings; g) Valve arrester insulation jacket. This standard does not apply to: a) Equipment installed in places with serious pollution or with gases, vapors and chemical deposits harmful to insulation; b) Indoor equipment in places with high relative humidity and prone to condensation.
