- This standard specifies the terms, symbols, basic tooth types and dimensions of tapered and cylindrical threads for gas cylinders. This standard applies to the taper thread (hereinafter referred to as tapered thread) connecting the mouth of the gas cylinder to the bottle valve and other sealing connections, and the non-threaded sealing cylindrical pipe thread (hereinafter referred to as cylindrical thread) connecting the bottle cap to the neck ring.
