This standard applies to the measurement of audio characteristics of frequency modulation (FM) recordings on non-broadcast video tape recorders. FM-recorded audio systems use slanted magnetic tracks, similar to those recorded by video signals. The main features of this recording system are: two channels, high fidelity and the use of a noise-reducing compandor.
