Scope: This International Standard specifies an application program interface for generating geometric models independent of the target user system. This interface enables the portability of the description program of the parametric shape representation of the part family in the ISO13584 part library. This standard applies to: programs that generate geometric representations in a modeling system independent of the target system; programs that specify geometric representations created through constraint-based geometry definitions; programs that structure geometric representations generated independent of the target system ; Procedures for specifying presentation style attributes for generated symbolic visual representations; Procedures for presetting technical drawing standards to support shape representations, including 2D hidden line processing. This standard does not apply to: the precise control of the images to be displayed on the receiving system equipment; the precise definition of the data to be created on the receiving system; the storage of parametric models on the receiving system.
