- Scope
- This standard applies to household and similar hand-held circular saws for indoor and outdoor use. Any hand-held electric circular saw that can be installed on the bracket as a fixed tool without any modification itself falls within the scope of this standard. Circular saw attachments and cutting saw blades are not covered by this standard. The purpose of this standard is to describe and define the main characteristics of circular saws of interest to the user and to specify standard methods for measuring these characteristics. This standard neither deals with safety requirements nor specifies performance acceptance limits. The safety requirements for hand-held electric circular saws are specified in GB 3883.5.
