1. Overview The general requirements of this standard (Part 1) apply to mains-powered or battery-powered household and similar electrical appliances, including their accessories and components. Unless otherwise specified in the special requirements section (Part 2), similar uses can be understood as use under conditions similar to domestic environments, such as in hotels, coffee shops, tea rooms, barber shops, beauty shops or laundry shops, etc. This standard does not apply to: - appliances, installations or equipment designed for industrial or professional purposes; - appliances which are integral parts or installations of buildings, such as air-conditioning appliances, heating appliances, ventilation appliances, pumps for water supply and drainage systems; - separate motors or generators; - appliances for outdoor use. 2. Types of noise ISO 12001 classifies different types of noise. The methods listed in GB/T 3767 are applicable to the measurement of various noises of household appliances. The methods outlined in ISO 3743-1 and ISO 3743-2 are applicable to noises other than impulse noise. This will be specified in the development of the special requirements section. 3. The size of the sound source The methods listed in GB/T 3767 are applicable to sound sources of any size. Limitations on the size of sound sources are given in 1.2.2 of ISO 3743-1 and ISO 3743-2. This will be specified in the development of the special requirements section.
