- This standard specifies the registration procedures for coding schemes and the management requirements for the International Coding Scheme Identifier (ICSI). Any code value resulting from the application of such a coding scheme is given an unambiguous meaning by association with the ICSI value. Specifications of the coding scheme itself and technical implementation in the exchange, such as internal procedures, file organization technology, storage media, coding rules, language, etc. are not within the scope of this standard.
