This standard stipulates the common cabling used in the building complex, and the building complex may consist of one building or multiple buildings in the park. This standard is most applicable to building complexes with a maximum span of 3000m, a maximum of 100 0000m2 of office space and between 50 and 50 000 employees. For installations outside this scope, it is recommended to use the principles of this standard. The cabling defined by this standard supports a wide range of services, including voice, data, text, graphics and video. This standard stipulates: a) structure and minimum configuration of common cabling1); b) implementation requirements; c) performance requirements of each section of cabling link; d) consistency requirements and verification procedures. Although requirements for safety (electrical, fire protection, etc.) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) are outside the scope of this standard and are covered by other standards and regulations, the information given in this standard may help to meet these requirements.
