This standard specifies the general cabling used in building complexes, which may consist of one building or multiple buildings in the park. It includes balanced cabling and fiber optic cabling. This standard is most applicable to building groups where telecommunication services can be distributed over a maximum distance of 2000m. The principles of this standard can be applied to larger installations. The cabling defined by this standard supports a wide range of services, including voice, data, text, graphics and video. This standard specifies, directly or by reference: a) the structure and minimum configuration of common cabling and cables; b) the telecommunications socket (TO) interface; c) the performance requirements of each cabling link and channel; d) the implementation requirements and options; e) This standard specifies performance requirements for cabling components for maximum distances; f) Conformance requirements and verification procedures. Requirements for safety (electrical safety and protection, fire protection, etc.) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) are outside the scope of this standard and are covered by other standards and regulations. However, the information given in this standard may be helpful. This standard takes into account the requirements specified in the applicable standards listed in annex F, which refer to existing international standards for applicable components and test methods.
