This International Standard provides guidance beyond the requirements of GB/T 19001 in order to consider improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the quality management system and, in turn, to develop the potential for improving organizational performance. Compared with GB/T 19001, this standard expands the objectives of customer satisfaction and product quality to include the satisfaction of interested parties and the performance of the organization. This International Standard applies to the individual processes of the organization. Therefore, the quality management principles on which this International Standard is based can also be applied throughout the organization. This International Standard emphasizes achieving continual improvement, as measured by the satisfaction of customers and other interested parties. This standard includes guidelines and recommendations, neither intended for certification, regulatory or contract purposes, nor is it a guide to the implementation of GB/T 19001.
