Scope: This standard stipulates the requirements and test procedures for side impact of vehicles, and also specifies changes in vehicle types, three-dimensional H-point devices, mobile deformable barriers and side impact dummy. This standard is applicable to M₁ and N₁ category vehicles whose mass is the reference mass and the distance between the R point of the lowest seat and the ground does not exceed 700mm.
