Scope: This standard specifies the definition, technical requirements and test methods of automotive seat belts, restraint systems, child restraint systems and ISOFIX child restraint systems. This standard applies to: a) M and N vehicles with seat belts and restraint systems installed on the forward or rear-facing seats as independent equipment for adult occupants; b) M and N vehicles with forward or rear-facing seats The seat is independently equipped with seat belts and restraint systems for adult occupants; c) M₁ and N₁ vehicles equipped with child restraint systems and ISOFIX child restraint systems; d) equipped with safety Vehicles of category M₁ with a reminder device.
