Scope: This standard specifies the technical requirements for factory-assembled AC metal-enclosed switchgear and control equipment with a rated voltage of 3.6kV to 40.5kV, installed indoors or outdoors, and with a frequency of 50Hz or below. The enclosure may contain fixed or removable components and may be filled with insulating and/or breaking fluid (liquid or gas). This standard divides metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear into classes according to the following points. - Continuity of network operation when maintaining switchgear and control equipment; - Convenience required for equipment maintenance. For metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear with gas-filled compartments, this standard applies when the design pressure does not exceed 0.3MPa (relative pressure). For metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear for special purposes, such as those used in flammable gases, in mines or on ships, corresponding technical requirements may need to be added. Components installed in metal-enclosed switchgear and controlgear shall be designed and tested in accordance with the provisions of their respective standards. This standard supplements the standards for individual components by taking into account their installation in switchgear and controlgear assemblies. This standard does not preclude the use of other equipment in the same enclosure, in which case consideration shall be given to the effect of the equipment on the switchgear and controlgear assembly.
