Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements and test methods for the protection of front outer seat occupants in the event of a frontal offset collision of a passenger car. This standard is applicable to category M1 vehicles whose maximum design total mass is not greater than 2500 kg. M1 vehicles and other types of vehicles whose mass exceeds this range can be implemented as a reference.
