This standard specifies the main procedures for determining and evaluating the quality of digital geographic datasets, consistent with the basic elements of data quality defined in GB/T 21337-2008. This standard establishes the content framework for evaluating and recording the quality results of datasets, as part of data quality metadata, or as the content of quality evaluation reports. This standard can be used by data producers to provide quality information on the degree to which data sets conform to the corresponding product specifications, and also by data users to determine whether data sets are of sufficient quality to meet their specific application requirements. This standard applies to all types of digital geographic data, and its principles can also be extended to many other forms of geographic data, such as maps, charts and documents.
