Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for the linear density of synthetic fiber filaments—method A and method B. Method 8 of this standard is applicable to the linear density test of synthetic fiber filaments; method A is only applicable to the linear density test of drawn filaments. Method A is used in cases where drawn filaments are in dispute. The synthetic fiber filament drawn from the fabric can be used as reference. This standard does not apply to filaments whose elongation is greater than 0.5% when the tension increases from 0.05 cN/dtex to 0.1 cN/dtex.
