Scope: This standard specifies the test method for the linear density of polyester (polyester), polyamide (nylon), polypropylene (polypropylene), cellulose chemical fibers and other filaments (multifilament and monofilament). This standard is applicable to the linear density test of filaments drawn from packages or fabrics, and strands and cables can be used as a reference. This standard does not apply to filaments whose elongation is greater than 0.5% when the tension increases from 0.05cN/dtex to 0.1cN/dtex.
