- This part of GB/T 18992--2003 specifies the definition, symbols, abbreviations, grades of service conditions, materials and hygienic performance requirements of cross-linked polyethylene (PE-X) piping systems for hot and cold water. This section, together with other sections, applies to cold and hot water piping systems in buildings, including industrial and civil hot and cold water, drinking water and heating systems, etc. GB/T 18992--2003 does not apply to fire extinguishing systems and fluid delivery systems for non-aqueous media.
