Some properties of insulating materials are affected by the temperature or humidity of the atmospheric environment in which they are located. Therefore, when testing solid insulating materials, the environmental conditions (such as temperature and humidity) experienced by the sample before the test and the environmental conditions during the actual test should be controlled. For insulating materials that may be affected by the above factors, when giving their test results, the relevant conditions for the exposure of the sample should be stated at the same time. Therefore, the specifications for such materials should specify the atmospheric environment that the sample should be exposed to before the test and the test conditions of the sample.
