Scope
This standard specifies general operating rules for the manual operation parts that are related to electrical equipment and constitute a part of the human-machine interface. The purpose of this standard is to: ——Improve the safety of the equipment (such as for people, property, and the environment) through the safe operation of the equipment; — - It is convenient for the operator to perform normal and real-time operation. The various rules stipulated in this standard are not only applicable to the operation of electrical equipment, mechanical equipment or complete sets of equipment under normal conditions, but also to the operation under failure and emergency conditions. This standard is intended for general application with operating elements ranging from a single operating element (such as a push button) to multiple operating elements in large installations consisting of electrical and non-electrical equipment or as part of a central process control station. This standard establishes a corresponding relationship between the function of an operating element and its operating direction, or the position of other operating elements. In the absence of special provisions, this standard can also be used for operating devices (such as pedal devices) manipulated by other parts of the human body other than hands. This basic safety publication is intended for use by the relevant technical committees in developing relevant standards, unless such standards are not available or are lacking and are used alone. In the case that safety considerations are not involved, relevant technical committees are allowed to formulate individual exception clauses within the framework of this basic safety standard with reference to the IEC 104 guidelines.
