Scope: This part provides guidance for the design of outdoor enclosures, which can be widely used in mechanical, electromechanical and electronic equipment with standard modulus design. The purpose of this section is to provide a summary specification for enclosures used outdoors without weather protection. These enclosures can accommodate any equipment and protect outdoor installations from harmful environmental influences (see Figure l). The installed equipment may be but not limited to subracks complying with IEC 60917-2-2 or IEC 60297-3.
