Scope: This standard applies to all mechanical, electromechanical and electronic equipment installed in outdoor environments, and can be used for the formulation of detailed specifications for boxes and cabinets exposed to outdoor environments without weather protection. This part specifies the internal and external coordinated dimensions and grid spacing of outdoor cabinets, including boxes and cabinets. Internal and external coordination dimensions are from IEC 60917-2. The internal dimensions conform to the subrack installation dimensions of IEC 60917-2-2 and IEC 60297-3. The external dimensions are equivalent to IEC 60917-2. In order to meet the design requirements of outdoor climate conditions, the partial dimensions can be enlarged. The purpose of this section is to ensure the compatibility of external and internal interface dimensions of outdoor enclosures.
