Scope
This standard describes two test methods for evaluating electrical insulating materials used in severe environmental conditions by measuring resistance to tracking and corrosion at power frequency (48Hz~62Hz), using liquid pollutants and inclined plane samples. Method 1: Constant tracking voltage method Method 2: Stepwise tracking voltage method For the test equipment described in the following clauses, the tracking starts at the lower electrode. Two criteria can be used to determine the endpoint of the trial. Judgment Criterion A: The end point is reached when the current passing through the sample in the high voltage circuit exceeds 60mA. At this time, the overcurrent device cuts off the power supply. Judgment Criterion B: The end point is reached when the electric trace reaches the mark on the sample surface at a distance of 25mm from the lower electrode (see Figure 1 and Figure 3b).
