Scope
This part of GB/T 18391 provides the operation steps and methods for associating data and classification schema. Several components of data elements lead to the need for classification. The components covered by GB/T 18391 include object classes, properties, representations, value fields, the concept of data elements, and the data elements themselves. The steps and methods detailed in this section will enable the registration authority to better use the taxonomy schema to: - analyze object classes, data element concepts and data elements; - reduce the diversity of data element concepts and data elements; - unambiguously identify, describe and define data element concepts and data elements; - assist in data element analysis for specifying registration status; - resolve Issues related to synonyms and polysemous words; - Retrieve data element concepts and data elements in the data registry; - Identify the relationship between data element concepts and data elements; - Support unique and unmistakable identification and reference object classes, The concept of data element and the form of data element should be language neutral and possible to be applied to information technology. The formulation of GB/T 18391 is also based on the need for standardized data design procedures to ensure that data elements can support electronic data exchange. This standard identifies a set of principles, methods and procedures for clarifying the (minimum) requirements for documenting the association between the components of a data element and the classification scheme. This includes the names, dumb identifiers, definitions and other aspects of taxonomy schemas and their contents. These can be obtained through the use of property sets. This section will describe some specific attributes and the organization of the content of these attributes. Users can extend this attribute set when necessary. Taxonomies or ontologies can be accompanied by additional information, for example, to provide a suggested set of qualifiers that can be used for object classes, properties, or denotative taxa, in order to more fully qualify the taxonomy for specific data elements. This part is based on and uses the basic attributes of Part 3 of GB/T 18391. The examples contained in 3.4 show how selected data element components can be associated with classification schemes through the attributes described here. The use of one or more taxonomy schemas is intended to provide a sound conceptual basis for developing metadata that enhances semantic precision and design integrity. This section does not identify a specific classification scheme as an example. It is not within the scope of this standard to endorse a specific taxonomy and/or a specific epistemology. They are developed by other standards committees and are appropriate for a particular field of study. The functionality of the taxonomy schema and the use of its content are contestable. Specification language and/or specific technical means and structures for classification that are being or have been developed by other standards committees can also be accommodated in this part. Development and expansion and maintenance of thesaurus in the taxonomic structure. These properties could be added to the properties described in this section according to extensibility principles, but they are not included here. As described and stipulated in GB/T 18391.6, each registration authority can classify the components of data elements according to the classification mode, structure and content it deems appropriate. In terms of the classification of documented data elements, the registration agency should follow the principles, methods, procedures and attributes specified in this part.
