Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements and test methods for passenger car seats and their vehicle fixings. This standard applies to seats installed facing forward in M2 and M3 passenger cars. The vehicle shall have seat anchorages for mounting the above mentioned seats or other forms of seating which may be mounted on these anchorages. This standard does not apply to seats used in Class A and Class I passenger cars of M2 and M3. Seats of M2 passenger cars can also be tested according to the technical requirements and test methods stipulated in CMVDR 217 at the request of the manufacturer.
