Scope: This standard specifies the strength requirements and test methods for passenger car seats and their fixing parts. This standard is applicable to passenger seats mounted forward in Class II, Class III and Class B passenger cars of M₂ and M₃, as well as the vehicle fixings and components of all passenger seats of such passenger cars. Its seat mounted. It is also applicable to restraint partitions installed in front of the seats and their vehicle fixings on such passenger cars. This standard does not apply to rear-facing seats, side seats and foldable seats, nor does it apply to the driver's seat.
