WARNING: Personnel using this section should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This section does not address all possible security issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This standard specifies the determination of manganese content by potentiometric or visual titration. This section applies to the determination of manganese content in alloy steel with a mass fraction of 2% to 25%. Vanadium and cerium interfere with the determination results. If the cerium content in the sample is less than 0.01% or the vanadium content is less than 0.005%, the interference can be ignored. If the cerium content in the sample is greater than 0.01% or the vanadium content is greater than 0.005%, the theoretical value can be corrected.
