- This standard specifies the dimensions and marking examples of machine reamers with straight shank and Morse taper shank. This standard applies to the following types of reamers: ——Straight shank machine reamers with a diameter greater than 1.32 mm to 20 mm; ——Morse taper machine reamers with a diameter greater than 5.30 mm to 50 mm. This standard specifies only metric dimensions, and only metric dimensions are recommended in the future. For the above-mentioned types of reamers, this standard lists two tables, one is the preferred size and other corresponding sizes; the other is the size of the diameter segment. Tolerances are also specified for reamer length, cutting portion diameter, and shank diameter for straight shanks. These reamers are made right cutting unless otherwise stated. Straight groove or spiral groove is determined by the manufacturer.
